The main purposes of advertising

Create awareness- To inform and educate about a new commercial product- NHS, Tramlines, Rimmel

Introduced new products to the market- E.g. Coca Cola constantly have new bottles and flavours of coke

Increase sales- To do deals and offers. Convince the consumer that they need the product. Hierarchy of needs- Heinz new product to target a new audience. 

Rebranding and existing product- Changing the look and identity of an existing product. Values change.

Generate feedback- Want to know what the audience thinks about the product. Companies want to boat how many people like their products.
